Place, devolution and the next chapter for education

– by Vicky Linsley, CEO

With recent changes in government, the issue of regional devolution is clearly rising on the agenda. Naturally, school leaders are asking how this may play out in relation to education.

For a recent event, the Confederation of School Trusts published a discussion paper proposing radical reform of our sector – with devolution and place becoming the central organising principles.

While I don't immediately agree with everything within the paper, I applaud its intention to open up a conversation and to ensure future policy is based on the solid foundation of fact and experience. It makes a very interesting read that I feel is worth sharing.
