Primary Maths Workshops
We offer a series of Primary Maths Training Workshops, to share excellence in maths teaching.
Led by Primary Headteacher Kate Dingle, these lively after-school sessions take place on 4 consecutive Thursdays from 3:35pm-4:30pm. Participants can attend in person or join online.
The sessions consist of understanding the pedagogical structure of excellent Mathematics teaching using a three-tiered approach, with an additional focus on oracy and mathematical explanations.
In Summer Term, after the SATs have finished, we plan to invite participating schools to take part in a Maths transition event. This will be hosted by our Secondary Maths team, and aims to inspire a love of maths in pupils moving from KS2 to KS3.

'The maths training was brilliant. It made me reflect on my own practice and provided me with a clear, evidence backed, structure to inform my future maths teaching. As an ECT it was a great opportunity to collaborate with other teachers and gain ideas that I can use in my own classroom! I found the CPD extremely beneficial.'
- Zoe, EYFS
'I really valued the maths training on the model–apply–challenge approach. It was clear, practical and has already helped me think more carefully about how I structure my maths lessons so pupils build confidence before moving on to deeper challenge.'
- Simran, Year 4 Teacher
'The four-session maths training was engaging, practical, and immediately useful for our primary classroom teaching... it provided clear strategies to strengthen pupils’ understanding and enjoyment of maths and was delivered in a practical and engaging way.'
- Miranda, Maths Lead, St Marks
