Rhian Roberts - Chair of Hive Education Trust
Rhian is Head of Digital Strategy Engagement for BBC Radio and Music Multiplatform and a member of the BBC Creative Leadership network. She is also on the board of trustees for Greenbelt Festival.
David Holland, KC - Vice-Chair of Hive Education Trust, Chair of Audit Committee
David is a barrister and King's Counsel who also sits as a part-time Judge. He lives in Highbury, North London, and brings a sharp legal mind to the Trust’s activities.
Kathryn Davies - Chair of Standards Committee
An economist by trade, Kathryn leads a team of global marketing and communications professionals for a large international company. She lives in Islington, North London, and has over 10 years’ governance experience, specifically in supporting the drive for high educational standards.
Vicky Linsley - Chief Exective Officer, Hive Education Trust
With over 25 years’ experience of inner city education, Vicky is currently Headteacher at Islington's St Mary Magdalene Academy. She has a wealth of experience, both as a leader and as a consultant, bringing change to schools in some of the most challenging circumstances. She has worked as a seconded HMI and continues to lead inspections for Ofsted. Vicky brings an ability to assess a school swiftly and to work collegiately with leaders and governors.
Damilola Ajagbonna
Damilola is an educator and currently Acting Headteacher of Bedford School in Bedford. He trained as a teacher with Teach First and subsequently worked in the inner London Boroughs of Islington and Newham as a teacher and leader. He is passionate about providing an excellent education for every child.
Harry Tefoglou - chair of Finance, Premises & Personnel Committee
Harry is a financial professional with over 30 years’ experience. He is currently managing an investment fund for institutional investors.
Sarika Rabheru
Sarika is an experienced employment lawyer, specialising in running independent internal investigations into allegations of bullying, harassment and discrimination. She also facilitates training for companies on effective management and workplace conduct. Sarika lives in Islington and is passionate about making a positive impact in her local area.
Ian Ship - Chief Finance Officer, Hive Education Trust
Ian has over 18 years’ experience in the schools’ sector and many years of experience in both public and private sector finance. He is currently Director of Finance and Corporate Services and Company Secretary for Hive Education Trust. He brings a strategic mindset and an analytical approach to the Trust’s financial planning and management.
Ian leads on the Trust’s HR functions, overseeing policy development, workforce planning, and operational compliance across all schools. He has extensive experience of securing funding through bids and external programmes, and he leads on capital project planning and delivery. His operational oversight ensures that the Trust’s schools remain compliant, well‑resourced, and focused on achieving high‑quality educational outcomes.
Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of School Business Leadership (FISBL) and holds an MBA. He is also a member of regional school business leadership networks, contributing to sector‑wide discussions on governance, financial planning, and operational assurance. Ian has served on the Local Authority Schools’ Forum and is currently a member of the Islington Pension Board, providing oversight and scrutiny of the local government pension scheme.
Ian can support schools with the development and strengthening of financial systems, internal controls, and governance frameworks as well as a full range of ‘back office’ development and improvement.
