Meet Our Core Team
Vicky Linsley, CEO
With over 25 years’ experience of inner city education, Vicky brings an ability to assess a school swiftly and to work collegiately with leaders and governors. She has a wealth of experience, both as a leader and as a consultant, bringing change to schools in some of the most challenging circumstances.
Vicky was Headteacher of St Mary Magdalene Academy from 2013-2025; she worked as a seconded HMI and OI between 2016 and 2024, leading and teaming on inspections and carries out consultancy work for GROW.
Vicky is currently CEO of Hive Education Trust and its Accounting Officer. She is a member of the IOE National Mandarin Headteacher Steering Group and sits on the national SIAMS Advisory Board. She has served on the Local Authority Schools’ Forum and holds a Masters in Education from the University of Oxford.
Vicky can support with change management at a whole school level, including restructuring, curriculum design, senior level appraisal, new or Headteacher coaching, reviews of core areas as well as overall raising achievement.
Ian Ship, Chief Finance Officer
Ian has over 18 years’ experience in the schools’ sector and many years of experience in both public and private sector finance. He is currently Director of Finance and Corporate Services and Company Secretary for Hive Education Trust. He brings a strategic mindset and an analytical approach to the Trust’s financial planning and management.
Ian leads on the Trust’s HR functions, overseeing policy development, workforce planning, and operational compliance across all schools. He has extensive experience of securing funding through bids and external programmes, and he leads on capital project planning and delivery. His operational oversight ensures that the Trust’s schools remain compliant, well‑resourced, and focused on achieving high‑quality educational outcomes.
Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of School Business Leadership (FISBL) and holds an MBA. He is also a member of regional school business leadership networks, contributing to sector‑wide discussions on governance, financial planning, and operational assurance. Ian has served on the Local Authority Schools’ Forum and is currently a member of the Islington Pension Board, providing oversight and scrutiny of the local government pension scheme. Ian can support schools in the development and strengthening of financial systems, internal controls, and governance frameworks, as well as a full range of ‘back office’ development and improvement.
Kim Turner-Wood
Kim has over 30 years’ experience in executive-level administration and communication across the commercial and education sectors. She currently leads a team of X across the Trust and is Executive PA to two of the Trust’s leaders.
Kim is swiftly able to identify ways to improve the ‘back office’ set up, as well as offering support and training on a broad range of challenges to higher-level administrators. She is highly skilled in managing the administration of complaints effectively and in streamlining communication with parents and other community stakeholders. Kim thrives on tackling challenges and finding efficient solutions to everyday issues.
Network Manager
Our Network Manager has shaped the school’s strong and reliable IT foundation, designing and building it from a blank slate over more than 20 years. His leadership means that IT systems are a core pillar of the school’s high functioning work environment for both ‘back office’ administration and teaching and learning.
The Network Manager leads an experienced team whose strong knowledge and expertise keep systems running smoothly. In a climate of complex hardware, software and growing external threats, the Network Manager is a wise and effective strategist and trouble shooter who, together with the team, can support you with every element of IT.
Shivani Patel
Shivani is an experienced HR professional with a background in both public and private sectors. She has expertise in both HR operations and employee lifecycle management, together with employment legislation and best-practice HR operations.
Shivani brings a wealth of expertise to a school setting and can support with developing your HR practice or problem solving on individual issues.
Anna Butler

Anna has over 25 years’ senior-level experience in Marketing & Communications across major public sector and commercial organisations.
With 10 years of experience in schools in both Camden and Islington, her expertise includes full school rebranding projects, digital communications and web development, public consultation strategies, market research, support with public relations and design.
